Your roof, our trade.
Bituminous roofing is the main trade, but a roof is more than the surface alone. The gutter, the rainwater downpipe, the lead at the chimney, the fascia boards and the roof decking beneath it all belong to it just as much. Everything listed below I do myself.
Roofing felt, torch-on membrane, roof edge trim, PV panels: the words differ from one trade and one region to the next. If you are not sure which heading your job falls under, just call and we will work it out together.
Twelve kinds of roofing work
Flat roofs and bitumen
New bituminous roofing on a house, extension, garage or commercial building.
Roof renovation
Due for replacement? I measure up, assess it and tell you honestly whether a repair will still do.
Roof leaks
Tracing the leak is part of the job. Urgent work is scheduled as soon as possible.
Zinc work
Zinc gutters, rainwater downpipes and wall copings, new or repaired.
Lead work
Lead flashing at the chimney, the wall and the roof window, where leaks most often start.
Roof insulation
Insulate during the renovation. Doing it later means opening the whole roof again.
Skylights and roof windows
Fitting and replacing, with an upstand that keeps the water out.
Roof edges and fascia
Where nearly all wind damage begins: aluminium roof trim and new upstands.
Roof maintenance and inspection
Having a look every five years often prevents a bigger repair.
Roofs with solar panels
A roof made ready for panels, or repairs to roofs that already carry them.
Timber and roof decking
Replacing rotten decking under the roofing, so the new roof lies on sound timber.
Vents and roof penetrations
Roof penetrations fitted, torched in or removed, and finished watertight.
The same trade, a different route
The roofing work is the same for everyone. What differs is how it runs: a private owner wants to know where they stand and how long it will take, a residents' association needs a quote that can be discussed at the meeting, and a contractor wants someone who fits into the build programme.
Homeowners
Your own roof, extension or garage, from the first phone call to handover.
Businesses
Commercial buildings, warehouses and halls, with the premises still in use.
Homeowners' associations
A quote you can put straight to the members' meeting.
Contractors
Subcontracting: housing, commercial construction and work at height.
A quote for your roof, with no obligation.
Fill in the form or give me a call. I come out, measure it up and tell you what is needed. A 10-year guarantee on watertightness, and you are tied to nothing.
